Eversource Energy Pressure Mechanic Qualified in Waterbury, Connecticut
Job Description Summary:
Individual will be responsible for the inspection, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and periodic overhaul of various distribution facilities including but not limited to the following: district regulator stations, city gate stations, customer worker/monitor pressure regulating device, natural gas fired boilers, natural gas odorizers, pumps, valves, and compressed natural gas vehicle refueling stations. Individual will be responsible to cover call throughout the service territory as assigned. Individual must exhibit strong performance in emergency situations to protect the safe and reliable operation of the distribution system.
Individual must have demonstrated strong interest, aptitude, and knowledge in the following areas (as appropriate to the equipment and facilities for the region): regulator inspection and maintenance, gate station operations and maintenance, compressed natural gas maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of natural gas fired boilers and lineheaters, operation and maintenance of YZ odorizers basic electricity, and the ability to operate a personal computer. Individual must possess a motor vehicle operator's license.
Bargaining unit employees with contractual rights to this position will be given first consideration.
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
